Common Paint Media Used By Artists

An artistic medium is the painting material used by artists to create their art. (The plural of medium is media.) An artist may use "oil on sail" or "tempera on forest," etc., to compose a painting. Each item used in the creation of the painting is media. In this article, notwithstanding, we are merely going to expect at paint as a medium. In that location are four common paint media used by artists: acrylics, oils, tempera, and watercolor.

Acrylics

Oils

Oil pigment has been the ascendant medium since the 1500s. The richness and glow that oil gives to the colour pigments make oil pigment a pop choice with many painters.

Tempera
